We’ve been moving together online since mid-March and it’s time for me to take a little breather. Tuesday and Friday classes will be on hold for the month of July. But let’s get together for a special two hour session mid-month, feel the support we’ve been leaning into. We’ll take the time to leisurely review all the essentials and it will be recorded for to inspire the rest of July.

Equipment needed: just your mat or carpet and the toys pictured: foam roller, two tennis balls taped together and one small-ish massage ball of your choice. Need to purchase roller or massage ball? Check this link.
What: fascia release with rollers and balls, subtle core toning, stretching. Expert Bella guidance to establish or recharge your home mat practice. Want on going support during the week? Each session is recorded.
Why: Sometimes we feel juicy, flexible, loose or powerful. AND it’s totally human to feel tight, achy, weak, downright painful. Utter truth: some body part on the fritz is the norm. Sometimes that fritz really cramps our style. What if we could suffer less?
How: This weekly session helps you establish that 15 minute habit on your home mat. Even 15 effective minutes can create huge change. I’ve pulled this together for 1000’s of patients and my own steadily aging body. Let’s be together and heal into all we can be.
Set up for success: I offer great verbal cuing, so if you’re an auditory learner and don’t want to video focus or don’t want to be viewed on screen, that is perfectly OK. If you’re a visual learner, screen focus helps. I offer close ups and long views. Positioning your mat parallel or a bit diagonal to screen is ideal. The image you see on your screen is what I see. I sometimes offer cues if I can see you. If this is of interest, make sure you see your full image when you lie down & sit. When you stand, be further from your screen.
Bella, your Essentials teaching is really translating very well. You’re a clear communicator which is essential as a teacher. Thank you for being so clear. I feel as if I am in a class & sitting really close to you at the top of class which I really like – cause i can see your body & feel seen by the teacher…. this really is my favorite online thing I have tried. This is an in depth offering for ongoing class participants/workshop students/physical therapy patients. Expert Bella guidance supports and recharges your mat habit.
Gabrielle Roth said “It takes discipline to be a free spirit.” Amen. Home practice is more easily sustainable when we are held in and practice in community periodically. We come together on line for support at home for our home ritual AND to benefit from the healing available when we practice in community.
Both Essentials and Deeper Being share elements of movement that evolve slowly over time: changing needs, curiosity, study, awareness. But mostly they’re repeating moves. Over and over. Your home practice can be 15 minutes brief. It might be longer. But here is what we know: reliably practiced over a length of time primes neural pathways. When the physical body is inevitably stressed, we have a place to land where there is incredible access to healing.
We can naturally develop the body intuition to be our own best body worker. We breathe into experience with rollers & balls, massaging tight areas in neck, back, shoulders, hips, feet. We train subtle dynamic stability deep in the central core. We feel the natural application of all this in yoga asana. We renew our sense of alignment in the world as we sit, stand and walk. We grow ourselves loose, long and strong
